Pike County, Newton Doctor Earns Board Certification in Urgent Care Medicine

NEWTON – Newton Memorial Hospital is proud to announce that Joseph LiMarzi, M.D., has earned his Board Certification in Urgent Care Medicine.
Dr. LiMarzi’s latest achievement complements his already impressive curriculum vitae, which includes Board Certifications in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine as well as certifications in advanced cardiac, trauma and pediatric life support.
A resident of Pike County, Pa., Dr. LiMarzi has been assistant director of Newton Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department since 1996, and filled the same role since 2002 at Milford Urgent Care.
He is licensed to practice medicine in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut.
He has attended schooling at the University of Rome, University of Cagliari, Sardinia and the University of Foreigners, Perugia, all of which are located in Italy. He also attended Fordham University in Bronx, N.Y.
Dr. LiMarzi is the Medical Director of the Pike County Automated External Defibrillator Program and sits on the Advisory Committee of the Pike County Health Fund. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Association of Physician Specialists, American College of Emergency Physicians and American Association of Urgent Care Medicine.
