NEWTON – Newton Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce the addition of two new cardiologists to compliment an outstanding Cardiac Team at the Charles L. Tice Heart Center for Diagnostic Services.
Osler J. Guzon, M.D., and Gerald Cioce, M.D., joined the practice of Cardiology Associates of Sussex County, which has offices in Newton and Milford, PA.
Dr. Guzon completed his fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at the University of Missouri-Columbia, and Dr. Cioce completed Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology fellowships at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.
“Their presence at the Tice Heart Center is essential for the future growth of the cardiac program at Newton Memorial Hospital,” said Newton Memorial Hospital Director of Cardiac Services Tim Brewer. “There will be future opportunities for expansion of our Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory in the area of primary – and possibly – elective cardiac angioplasty, and their expertise will be helpful as we move ahead with providing quality care to the residents of the region.”
Opened in October 2006, the Charles L. Tice Heart Center for Diagnostic Services is equipped to handle cardiac diagnostic testing as well as peripheral vascular procedures. The Heart Center includes a state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization laboratory with the latest flat panel digital fluoroscopic imaging system; an echocardiography laboratory; stress testing; electrocardiograms; holter monitoring; the treatment of deep vein thrombosis’ and pacemaker follow up.
