NEWTON – Thanks to the dedicated effort of the Auxiliary, the Newton Memorial Hospital Foundation is proud to unveil the newly renovated family room located in the Maternity Center.
The Auxiliary has made a pledge to contribute $100,000 over a three-year period to the Single Room Maternity Revitalization Project. This project aims to create a calming and family friendly atmosphere, complete with comfortable seating and flat screen televisions, for expectant mothers and their family.
Through the proceeds collected from the Beehive Thrift store, the Annual Tricky Tray, and vendor sales, the Auxiliary was able to make this donation possible. Members of the auxiliary have long been contributing to the success of the Maternity Center as dedicated volunteers have been knitting caps and blankets for NMH newborns for years.
“The Auxilians at Newton Memorial Hospital have a long, storied history of providing financial support to hospital projects through our fundraising efforts,” said Claudette DeLong, President of the NMH Auxiliary. “Improving the experience for expectant mothers has always been an important part of what we do and we’re excited and proud to contribute to this worthy project. The end result is just beautiful.”
