NEWTON – Among the many highlights of An Evening of Wine & Roses is the opportunity to win a new luxury sedan, which this year is the Mercedes E350C.

In exchange for a $1,000 donation to the Newton Memorial Hospital Foundation, participants at An Evening of Wine & Roses will compete with 100 others for the chance to win the Mercedes, which is valued at approximately $50,000.

The proceeds will benefit the Foundation's 2010 Annual Giving Program which supports capital equipment, technology, programs and services at Newton Memorial Hospital. It also provides an entertaining finale to the evening when the winner is crowd after 99 other participants have been eliminated by a random draw.

"Most importantly is that all the car donations go to a good cause, to enable Newton Memorial Hospital to achieve its mission of providing exceptional care and service to the community," Newton Memorial Hospital Vice President of Development Megan Sandow said. "That being said, it's truly a unique component of Wine and Roses. It's fun to watch the entire crowd waiting with bated breath as the winner is revealed at the end of the evening – and the winner could be anybody. It's all up to chance."

The winner need not be present at the event.

Sponsored by RoNetco Supermarkets, this year's An Evening of Wine & Roses will be held March 25 and again will include a yet-to-be-named celebrity chef as the featured guest of the exclusive VIP Wine & Roses package. The Foundation has selected a new venue, Morris County Crossroads Corporate Center. It is located in Mt. Olive, Morris County, and is easily accessible from Interstate Route 80 as well as State Routes 46 and 206. The facility is located only 13 miles from Newton Memorial Hospital's Main Campus.

The evening is largely considered the region's premiere social event with a number of unique highlights, including the world's best-tasting wines and spirits as well as food from the region's finest restaurants. In addition to the Mercedes E350C, participants can win a variety of other prizes, including a trip for two to San Francisco.
