NEWTON – Hundreds of families from throughout northern New Jersey descended on Newton Memorial Hospital’s Main Lobby on May 15 for the Hospital’s annual Footsteps To A Fabulous Family Baby Fair and family expo
The expo gave parents an opportunity to visit the Hospital to learn more about the many ways Newton Memorial provides care to them and their families throughout the full spectrum of their lives. The expo also gave expectant parents an opportunity to visit the recently renovated Maternity Center at Newton Memorial.
“It’s a unique event in this community in that we welcome families to our facility before an emergency situation, which is when most families have their first experience with their local hospital,” said Jim Furgeson, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. “Once they arrive, they see that a lot is happening at Newton Memorial and we really are here for families when they need us most.”
Children enjoyed games and activities and picture opportunities with Dora the Explorer and Elmo while moms and dads visited more than 25 vendors arranged throughout the lobby. Vendors from throughout Sussex County highlighted their products and services. They included Mother Moon Baby, International Mom’s Club and Buckles & Bows, to name a few.
