PROGRAMS & SERVICES:
Adult Medical Clinic
What is the Adult Medical Clinic?
The Adult Medical Clinic at Newton Medical Center has been established to provide eligible patients access to quality medical care. Patients who may not have access to medical care due to financial limitations may qualify for this program.
As a patient of the Adult Medical Clinic, you will be provided continuity of care by seeing the same team of healthcare professionals on each visit.
What services are available at the Clinic?
The services provided would be similar to those you receive in a doctor’s office, including vaccines and information on staying healthy.
Who is eligible?
Any adult over the age of 18 who lives in Sussex County and is approved for New Jersey State Hospital Care.
If I have been financially screened, can I just come in and see the doctor?
No. All patients must call to make an appointment.
What hours is the Clinic available?
The clinic is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
If the clinic is closed and you have a medical emergency, go to the nearest emergency room.
For non-emergent issues, call the Clinic at (973) 579-8650 and leave a message. Your call will be returned the next day the Adult Medical Clinic is open.
What if I need to be hospitalized? Who would take care of me?
If hospitalization were needed, you would be admitted under the Hospitalists Program at Newton Medical Center. Click here for more information on the Hospital Medicine Program.
What if I need a surgeon or other specialist?
The clinic physician can make treatment referrals that are deemed "medically necessary" to the appropriate specialist.
