Patient Stories:
Fire Department Officer Trusts Newton Medical Center the Most
When Brian Rathbone (an officer in the Paterson Fire Department) injured his knee, he could have gone to any hospital for his orthopedic surgery and physical therapy. Brian is also an Urban Search and Rescue officer for New Jersey Task Force 1, a division of the State Police - his ability to stay active on his feet is not only important to him…but to each of the li lives he protects and saves every day.
Brian shares his story…“I have dealt with other hospitals but I trust Newton Medical Center the most. Their surgeons are some of the most well-respected and skilled in the country - it was a good feeling to know that I was in capable hands. My job requires me to be mobile and feeling strong, and a torn meniscus can keep you out of the field for awhile. The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department developed a personalized plan of physical therapy treatment for me.
Not only did Newton Medical Center make it easy for me to get in and out of a successful surgery, but because of its close proximity and dedicated caregivers I was able to get through my physical therapy sessions and back on my feet in no time at all.”
At Newton Medical Center, we are proud to care for Brian and each of you in our community.
